So it's that time of year again, these days though many announcements are piror to E3, I wrote an article and half of the highlights I noted got updates before even posting   But I thought it would be good to have a space where we can discuss our anticipation for next weeks show

I don't have anything on my mind that I am really really eager for, other than an announcement for a Remaster of Shenmue 1 & 2 on PS4, it's been in talk ever since the Kickstarter took off with a storm and I think it is important to let new gamers catch up beforfe the release of Part 3. As Shenmue 3 isn't to meet it's deadline of December this year, but I would happily take the HD collection in it's place.

Other wants this year, Kojima's Death Stranding - I think it's time to show actual gameplay this time, I can hope for a release date but I'd say it is unlikely - Apparently this won't even appear this year now. The Last of Us Part II, I'm ready for it, it's been a while since the 1st title and  we've had a great send of to Uncharted so I am set to go back and see where this can take us. Kingdom Hearts III.... I know, I'm not expecting a release date but a trailer would be sufficient. Final Fantasy Dissidia has been announcedfor PS4, This year is meant to be the 30th Anniversary of Final Fantasy and is set for early 2018. A release date on Quantic Dream's Detroit would be neat, I'm expecting such coverage on the new God of War & Days Gone. Interestingly  Ninja-Theory's HellBlade is suddenly set for August 8th and is a download title... I was expecting this to be a really big IP...

I'll update the page with trailers when they arrive so we can see them:

Final Fantasy Dissidia NT

Vampyr (From the makers of Life Is Strange)

HellBlade

A Way Out

Anthem (Gameplay):

Kingdom Hearts III

The Evil Within 2

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus

Soon I think

Updated some videos, Thought Bethesda had a really good show, interested in 3 of their games. I struggled to get along with the Evil Within, but this may be incentive to give it another go as it was a great trailer. Wolfenstein II might even be a day one purchase, very impressed. Eager for Sony's show now

So is Dishonored a full game? or is it DLC like Wolfensteins's The Old Blood? I ask because it didn't have Dishonored '2' in the title and it is getting a physical release:

Honestly, I don't mean to be a moaning murtle but I just don't see the point in this. I loved the game don't get me wrong but I thought the PS3 Remaster was already a perfect way to experience the game. If they get a chance to include the cut monster designs this would be a worth whle project but I honestly find the PS3 version a veyr comptent experience.

As for Sony's conference, a little disspoainted. We had some good demonstrations like God of War, Detriot & Days Gone but we knew about all 3 of them titles and the new footage didn't show much to change my interest. The Spider-Man gameplay Demo' was phenominal, I'm just not really into Super Hero games - Though I may pick it up cheaper later down the line. Never been into Monster Hunter, weird thing is that it's a series renown for online play but it didn't show anything like that - I can't see it being an offline game either as there was no presence of a narrative - Something I have always been put of with for that series. There just wasn't much which really got me jazzed up this year.

The Beyond Good And Evil 2 Reveal also felt really of, the problem for me was the language, it just felt really inappropritate for that type of game, especially compared to the child-friendlier nature of the previous game. I just really didn't like the tone of it.

I'll add videos in the OP.

If you aren't a fan or remasters (or in this case remakes), then I can understand why you would be disappointed with the showing. However, for me, some games are good enough to deserve a graphical upgrade or remake every generation. As long as they are not destroying the gameplay, or making it buggy, I will sign up for that every time. I've only seen the video, but from what I saw, it appears to be a remake, new from the ground up, but it appears to be setup as the same game as the original. In other words, this is a Twin Snakes or N-Sanity remake as opposed to a Resident Evil remake. I'm am 100% OK with that. Extra colossi would be nice, and maybe they will surprise us, but either way, I'm looking forward to it.

It's not that I am opposed to it... I just don't see the point when SotC on PS3 is a perfect way to experience the game already. It also just seems too early. Compare it to say Yakuza Kiwami in August, that takes a PS2 game which has certainly been dated (Those camera angle transitions we're quite a bother) and brings it up to modern quality - But in all honesty had we got the PS3 Remaster of Yakuza 1 & 2 like Japan did I'd question if we really needed that. I do prefer experiencing original games with remasters than mainitain the look and feel of the game but update the resolution to a modern standard - Like most of Bluepoints previous work. I don't doubt this wil be a worthy Remake, but I still just feel a bit confused regarding if it was needed.

Nothing on a Shenmue 1 & 2 HD remaster with is a shame as that is essential before a new generation approaches Shenmue III.

E3 2017 came down to this:

Two DLC and the number 4 are the only things that got me to actually widen my eyes.

The rest was a bloody WTF? boredom fest with one of Sony's worst showings since the goddamn RIIIIIDGE RAAAACER incident. Sean was terrified on his first walk out, the broken audio, showing games that we either a) already know about or b)won't see again till the 2018 sizzle reel, and so on. If your actual in-house audience is bored to tears (which the cameras kept showing) something is clearly wrong.

Microsoft had a clean showing, but nothing that made me go "Man, I need to spend $250 to 500 on an Xbox One finally!"

All Nintendo did was show the goddamn number 4 next to a game name in a title card, and that single 10 seconds did more for me than the entire presser conference combined.
